“Next Please…”

"..I invariably walk through don't you?

“..I invariably walk through… don’t you?

Please click on the .mp3 link below in bold to listen to this poem recited to my original musical composition. This is more of a performance piece, than a “read-it-to-yourself” poem.
Don’t even ask, where this thought came from…as I am not sure myself. I guess maybe from noticing some pretty open doors along the way, is my best theory. This is a little experiment in styles… and I hope you enjoy it.

Next Please…

When I see an open door along my moving timeline …
I invariably walk through… don’t you?

When I’m working on the assembly line of plastic plates, I don’t hesitate
to pick up that stray gold bar that somehow got through.
I remember from my school days what they would say,
Practice makes perfect..but I’m  just about ready to move on
Next please…

How many times can you love the wrong man,
and go through that lesson again?
Seriously… why are some lessons so hard to understand?
If I accept that the school of life is working me towards graduation
moving me along the course that will make my time worthwhile,
and that in repetition land is where I’m going to finally get it right…
I should see a little progress you would think
I know I Know…
Practice makes perfect, but you see I’m just about ready to move on.
Next please…

This crash -course feels like it’s trying to make me come to
my senses.
I’ve had this old lesson pounded into me until it’s glue,
so I want to refresh myself…and take a small sabbatical from my education.
I’m going to take a ferry ride in my free time, and watch the seagulls soar and dive.
I think that what I’m saying is, that I’m liking to be friends with you.
I don’t want to make it more, or meet you down the hill, or in a hotel room.
I don’t need to know how much you earn, or if you like dogs, or even what you do.
Those little details are up to you, but I’ve opened up another book,
and it’s feeling sort of new,

I just want to be loving friends with you.

I like it, cause it is so eeehm…cheerful and I think I can hear that you’re happy about how the things going 🙂

    Rucita…
I like love this! Its “free and easy, ” “come-what-may” ambiance simply shows that your poetry is constantly on the move. You are like the proverbial shark. Never stationary. Always searching. Cruising the waters day and night. Only your prey are words. And as anyone who knows you…You are a master of hunting, finding, devouring, and then gently placing your beautiful verses at our feet.
I can’t convey to you enough how impressed and proud I continually am.

    • Aww Hoyt, yes you captured it! Haha the experience -shark in me..but yes it is food for the muse..and for the spirit too. Your words are a poem in themselves…Thank you so much for your incredible support of me and my little craft:)

  3. Little craft, my PATOOTY! Gives a Hi-5 to Hoyt – well said about the shark in Karima and her prowess, but then of course, you KNOW her! Hahaha… seemed more than appropriate today as we celebrate your very special day (smiles), to catch up on some Sissy soul. With your awesome archive of work I am never without you.

  4. Awww Sissy Diz!! Thank for a virtual LIFETIME of support, love and the Greatest of memories!!!
Fins in the air..Pisces FOREVER!!! Love you sis!!!
