Drink Me With Your Eyes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A tiny Spanish feeling
A bolero and a glass
Un bolero y un vaso
A bolero and a glass
Cocktail of East and West
Poured into this dress
Gesticulating, swaying saying
“Drink me with your eyes”
“Solo con tus ojos.”
“Drink me with your eyes”
“Solo con tus ojos.”
“Drink me in.”
The horses tied up to the fence
Their tails flicking on the breeze
The horses tied up to the fence
Their tails flicking on the breeze
Las colas de los caballos
Me recuerdan tanto de ti
Las colas de los caballos
Me recuerdan tanto de ti
When you were in your dance
Bailaste solo por mi
Your dance was just for me
Bailaste solo por mi.
And the horses grew impatient
They wanted to be set free
And the horses grew impatient
They called to us to set them free.
And we freed them all that night
Against the crashing sea
And they galloped down the shoreline
Their tails dancing on the breeze
Las colas de los caballos
Me recuerdan tanto de ti
A tiny Spanish feeling
A bolero and a glass
Un bolero y un vaso
Las colas de los caballos
Me recuerdan tanto de ti
“Drink me with your eyes”
“Solo con tus ojos.”
“Drink me with your eyes”
“Solo con tus ojos.”
“Drink me in.”
  1. OOohhh… *Clinks* my glass to your’s and winks – dramatic and very sexy! Lovely tempo too (smiles). Sometimes you rock us wildly, sometimes gently, but never fails to amaze with your creativity and enchant with your productions 🙂
    • Aw Sis…the fact you are still “ingesting my productions” is the highest form of inspiration for me personally. So glad you liked this tempo and hypnotic little “tail” Ha ha I could not resist that spelling! “ching ching” as they say when glasses clink!
  2. Spiral Silverstar says:
    As always, your words create such wonderful, clear images in my mind. Thanks for sharing.
    I absolutely adore your bilingual poems. “Cocktail of East and West”, HOW PERFECT IS THAT! You SO are!! I sincerely believe that nothing short of “peace on earth” can only come from such a drink. You are the key, my sweet wonderful beautiful (sensual & gorgeous) one!
    Pauses to take a sip…. gulps it down instead…. can I get a refill??? ;o)
    The imagery is amazing; those horses of the night… And the mixing, melding of languages is wonderful (in text and even more in voice).
  6. Thank you dale..Who knows where these poems are born?..I saw it in my mind as if it were a memory. Nice when they come like that. Thank you for your continual support and your comments.
  7. Hoyt Heron says:
    Beautiful! Sensual! Alluring! The breeze. The shoreline. The crashing sea. There is only one person who could have written this!
  8. Smiles real big..and you guessed who it was:) What an intelligent ruco you must be! Thank you for this wonderful comment.
  9. Coincidence or not…..when I started to listen to your new poem, a glass of red wine was standing before me and my memories went back to the day, exactly one year ago, when I left my beloved Chile…So your words , especially the Spanish ones, struck me deep in my soul. But, as you know, so they do always.:) ! You take my hand and show me a hidden wonderland of passion, romance, fantasy and powerful images. Thank you for this, Kari ! Un abrazo grande estimada amiga de mi alma ***
    • Con gusto mi amiga artista y bella! I can imagine how you are missing your beloved Chile.
      Ahh so nice to take you along on the bi-lingual walk of midnight imagery. So many times you have taken me on your own, through your beautiful paintings. I was simply returning the favor:) Thank you once again, for staying close with your interest and loving appreciation. Un abrazo fuerte!
