Vector

You wrote the books...

You wrote the books, your key has unlocked mysteries

Vector, I hear you call to me from far across the stars,
Your voice is like a flute, a solo introduction to a symphony.
You spin my head with possibilities, and you keep calling,
“Come to me, I know the secret. I will tell you, if you just come.”

You wrote the books, your key has unlocked mysteries,
You are the last piece in the puzzle, and I can hold you in my hand.
But I am far from you, my lifetime is not enough time,
So, I stopped trying. I just stopped trying to get to you.

There are nights of stars when shrouded moons are silent,
Your siren’s call is heard from a deep sea of galaxies,
Inside my head and on the wind, you plead with me,
To make the journey, just one step, one step after the other.

I protest to you, I say I am too old to know the truth about our universe.
In this lifetime, I made choices, and none of them contained your name.
How ironic that when it is too late I hear your voice call out incessantly,
“Come to me, I know the secret. I will tell you, if you just come.”

What a wonderful little poem to read during my tea break.
    Thanks again, Karima! :*

Interesting poem, Kari! I read it seeking metaphor, and I read it with the awareness of your statement about wishing you had studied quantum mechanics/physics. I found “imagined” metaphor and I found thought-provoking ideas: “You wrote the books, your key has unlocked mysteries, You are the last piece in the puzzle, and I can hold you in my hand,” “Your siren’s call is heard from a deep sea of galaxies…” And, I found well put together words to convey a subject of which your connection comes through. That’s key, isn’t it; maybe that’s our poets’ vector. 🙂
    Nice~

    • Thank you Luna for your studied comment on this poem and for taking the time to leave it here too. Space has always been fascinating for me…as I get older, even more so, but I am sorry to say, I was always a lousy Math student. I wish I would have paid more attention in Physics class too:)

Wow, cool! 🙂 First you find the poetry in scripting, now in cosmology; love this.

  4. So happy you do Dale…Thank you for everything…that makes the Vector World on Kitely move and stuff:)

Wonderful poem, Karima, and connects seamlessly to Vector’s Vortex! Yay, Kitely! 🙂

  6. Aww thanks Spiral..and nice to have a few of your colorful and interesting fractals on the Vortex. They fit so well too:) I agree…”Yay Kitely” for those creative impulses and binges we sometimes find ourselves overcome with:)
